Perfect location for downtown SF...2blks from Union Square
More of a motel feel then a hotel feel
Take the Breakfast! Central location, very close ro Car Rental Central
Room to street are very loud (but that was to be expected...)
Staff okay, very helpful. Location is great! Near in Shopping venue and full of gallery around. Eating or shopping is not a problem. Super convenient transportation, and very near union square. Very lovely place to stay with reasonable price, cannot find any hotel better with the amount you paid. Never stay the hotel nearby as Touchstone is already the safest and cheapest hotel around. Never go one block further as many many junkies around!!!! Overall, Touchstone Hotel is great!
Easy to find, good location, parking was close and breakfast was good and price was reasonable
The rooms are Very small, no fans in the room we were in, and it didn't feel clean. Not what we're used to at all.
Free wifi, helpful staff, breakfast price reduction in the builtin buffet, clean bathroom.
It was somewhat noisy on the street side, had to close the windows to be able to sleep, but that was all.
Room was cute and clean, nice touches!
Corridors need updating.
Jane, the manager, was fantastic! We got on really well and she was really helpful while I was at Touchstone, even letting me store my luggage for a whole day. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and you can access the bart, Powell/Hyde cable car, and multiple muni lines from the location. I love the Touchstone!
location staff help
Noise level during the night in the rooms facing the street
The service - gracious, accomodating and went above and beyond
It was very close to Union Square, the location was perfect. The staff was very helpful & even booked us tickets to Alcatraz as they were checking us in
I'm not sure I would want to stay there in the summer as the room did not have any kind of air flow or temp gauge. Even with it being only 53 degrees outside we had to sleep with the windows open because our room was so stuffy & hot. This didn't help with the road noise. After staying at the Touchstone Hotel, it's apparent that I would rather stay somewhere that had a hotel bar & or hot tub/pool area to relax at. This is meerly a hotel that you want to go to just for sleep, as that was the only time we would want to be on our room. So if that's what you're after then it's great for the price!
Excellent value given location and quality of accommodations. The included breakfast (in the adjoining deli) was excellent.
I wouldn't pick this hotel if I planned on spending much time in my room — the room is small, there's no desk, the tv is tiny, and so on.
Close to Union Square
Seedy area, ridiculously small lobby and elevator.
Loved the front desk clerk. Super friendly and helpful!
Ran out of hot water on our last morning. Wasn't turned back on till it was time for us to leave, so we couldn't shower before heading back to the airport for our flight home. Total drag! Nothing offered in exchange! Should've at least offered half off our nights stay or something. This would've never happened at a higher end chain hotel.
Great location, great people. Very central - Union Square shopping, walk to Chinatown and Little Italy.
Ask to not be facing the main street if you are a light sleeper. Lots of traffic, partyers at nighclub accross the street and sirens...I am not used to that and I would have asked to move if I was staying for than 1 night. Use valet to park car - cheaper than doing it yourself.
